The state has extensive and well-developed railway network providing links to all important cities and ports of the country.

Proposed

• New railway links to be established within the state.
• Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Tatanagar to facilitate export efforts.
• Baspani-Jhargram-Daitari Railway project upto Paradeep Port which will make port nearer by about 330 km.
• 6 Railway projects of Rs.2000 crores with partnership of Jharkhand State Govt. including overbridge on Railway Crossings.

Road Network

• The state is very well connected by road.
• National Highway 1600 kms.
• State Highways 2711 kms.

Proposed

• To improve and upgrade the existing road network and provide new road linkages / bypasses with overbridges to facilitate quick and efficient movement of men, materials and finished goods.
• BOT concept for building & maintenance of roads & bridges by private sector participation.
• To provide expressways along the main high corridors across the state.
• Inter State & intra-state bus terminus across the state.

Telecommunication

• All district headquarters connected to the main network by reliable media and STD facility.
• Ranchi internet mode upgraded to A category.
• Optical fibre cable media connectivity available in all district headquarter.
• 6 Internet nodes operational in the state.
• Local dialing facility to access Internet available in all the district headquarters.

Proposed

• To link rural areas through WLL.
• To connect all telephone exchanges through OFC/UHF.
• To accelerate the process of linking rural area with Business Centres.

Airways

• Ranchi is well connected with Delhi, Patna, Mumbai and Kolkata.

Proposed

• To upgrade Ranchi Airport as International Airport.
• To start Air Taxi / Cargo Service in major towns of the state.
• To set up Air Cargo Complex at Ranchi to provide boost to export oriented industries efforts.
